Re: Jack Yusen S2 USS Samuel B. Roberts Battle of Samar, Leyte
“The Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors” by the author, James D. Hornfischer-2004.
After reading “”The Last Stand of the Tin Sailors” by James D. Hornfischer, a magnificent detailed account of what these brave men suffered in the aftermath of the fate of their beloved USS Samuel B. Roberts DE-413, my heart broke over their horrendous ordeal. One snap shot of a crewman was extremely special. I know this person. . .in another lifetime. I cannot explain this. Just that I am drawn into his gaze every time I look at his picture. There is a human connection in this, sadly fading as time passes. Re: Jack Yusen S2, survivor; USS Samuel Roberts DE-413. Battle of Samar, Leyte Gulf.
Utmost apologies. Thinking/translating in two languages blurs boundaries. I mean no disrespect. Re: Mr. Jack Yusen S2 USS Samuel B. Roberts-survivor. Referencing an earlier comment, I should said if he has not passed away.
I am looking for an address to Mr.Jack Yusen S2 USS Sammy B. survivor. I wish to correspond either to him, if he is still alive, or to his son Attorney Jack Yusen II, Seattle, WA. I must pass on this information to him.
My uncle was Louis Longo maybe known as Louie. I would love some information on him if anyone knows anything. He was not s survivor.
